Rethinking the Kingdom - When most people think of the Kingdom of God,
they think of Heaven, salvation, or being in the Church. Or, they may consider the Church's attempts to effect society (bringing
“Heaven on Earth”). However, “the Gospel of the Kingdom” which Jesus spoke of has so much more to
it. It is the message of a very real and coming government, in which a literal King shall soon take over the nations. The
Messiah is about to arrive, and with Him will come both deliverance and war. [read here]

Chronicling the Laughing Revival: As a young child I grew up in Christian meetings where people would laugh
hysterically, run in circles around the building, and walk about in a stupor like they had been drinking too much alcohol.
I sensed that it was Jesus who was making these people do such things, and everyone who experienced them seemed to be very
blessed as a result. To me, it was undeniable that the Lord was real, because I had witnessed His power visibly. I was a part
of the Laughing Revival, and I have to say it was probably the most significant part of my upbringing for strengthening me
in my faith. I was deeply effected by this movement, so I have decided to write a chronicle of its history. [read more here]
Things of the Spirit: As a renewalist, someone who believes strongly in the supernatural power
of God, I have encountered a lot of people who do not know very much about spiritual gifts or modern-day miracles. Not
only do they know little about these things, but even trying to talk about them can be difficult because of the terminology
renewalists often use. Because of this, I decided to write a list of terms, to break down what some of these words mean and
to explain the supernatural realm to someone who has a limited knowledge of it. This is that list. [read more here]

The Six Basics: If someone
were to walk up to you today and ask you what the six basic teachings of Christianity were, what would you say? Loving your
neighbor, believing the Scriptures, worshiping the Trinity, or evangelizing the lost? Would any of these be on your top list?
If so, you would be wrong. At least, according to the Bible. [read full article]

This Is My Need: I have a
lot of friends, both Christian and non, who it is very obvious to me that they have a great void in their lives. They either
have a very shallow existence in which they try to ignore their deepest need, or else they have a very painful life in which
they are constantly praying for God to meet that need. Because of this, I wanted to communicate to anyone that I
could that it is possible to have this need met. I am not perfect, there are times when I get spiritually hungry.
Nevertheless I know what it is like to be fed. That is why I wrote the following... [click to read poem]
Engaging in Prayer With Body and Soul: Most devout
Christians in the world today know what it means to connect with God on a spiritual level, speaking with Him in casual prayer
throughout their daily lives. But there is another form of prayer, which is very biblical, that few Christians engage in on
a regular basis. This type of prayer involves willful emotion and outward displays of passion. It involves people kneeling,
raising their hands, rocking back and forth, and doing all these types of these for more than just a few minutes. What I am
talking about is supplication, a practice held by the Jews in the Old Testament and the early church in the New Testament. [read full article]

How to Pray for An Hour (Without Getting Too Bored): The Bible tells us to “pray without stopping,”
meaning we should remain in communication with God throughout our entire day (1 Thes. 5:17). Yet this verse can also be applied
to our intercession, guiding us to pray for extended amounts of time without taking any breaks. I personally make sure I pray
at least one hour a day, because this is what I know God has called me to do. However long the Holy Spirit guides you to spend
time alone with Him, I would like to offer what I have learned about how to seek God at length without growing too bored.
I'm not an intercessor or even a seasoned prayer warrior. But God has given me some good understanding about how to keep my
prayer-life alive. [read full article]
Discovering Discipline: In the modern day Church most Christians absolutely
despise the term “religious.” The word conjures up ideas of man-made tradition, an endless list of rules, and
people hindering the Holy Spirit from moving freely within their midst. While this form of religion is definitely something
we should avoid, the Bible does say we're called to practice “pure religion.” For those of you who want to avoid
the use of this term, we can just say God wants us to have discipline. [read full article]

All You Need to Know About the Prophetic Movement: If you have watched GOD TV, been to The Call prayer rally, or read a devotional
message published at ElijahList.com, there is a good chance you know something about the Prophetic Movement. But considering
how young that this blossoming movement still is, there may be a lot that you have not learned. Contrary to popular belief,
it is not all about giving respect to modern-day prophets. This new wave of the Spirit is bringing a great deal of fresh understanding
to those within the entire Body of Christ. [read full article]
How to Interpret the Bible: Often people will try to excuse their sinful lifestyles by saying
they don't “interpret” the Bible to say they are doing anything wrong. They may claim, for instance, that their
interpretation of the Scriptures allows for homosexuality, when the Bible clearly says this is immoral (1 Cor. 6:9). And often,
devout Christians do the same thing. When someone introduces a new concept to them that their church has never taught, believers
may respond by saying, “Well, I know it is in the Bible. But that is not how I interpret those verses.” We have
to learn to take the Bible literally, while still receiving the personal applications that the Holy Spirit wants to reveal
to us through interpretation. [read full article]

The History of "Tongues": In 1906, the Azusa Street Revival broke out in Los Angeles, California,
making popular the practice of talking in tongues. This movement has swept the globe, and today its adherents make up the
largest sect of Christianity. With about half a billion people in their ranks1,
Pentecostals (or charismatics – as they are sometimes called) even outnumber mainstream Roman Catholics. Pentecostals
have many different beliefs concerning the Godhead, dress codes, and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, but one thing they almost
always share in common is an acceptance of speaking in tongues. Yet they were not the first Christians since the Book of Acts
to have practiced “glossolalia.” [read full article]
What Exactly is "Nonsectarian Christianity?": Christianity, as most would define it, includes a very diverse selection
of denominations and movements. There are Catholics, Orthodox, and Protestants. There are evangelicals and charismatics. There
are Oneness and Trinitarian believers, Pelagic and Augustinian believers, fundamentalists and emergents, monastics, and those
who accept “Dominion Theology.” Some could also be labeled as Calvinists or Armenians, Pentecostals, “Word
of Faith,” or Messianic. There are literally hundreds of descriptions that can be applied to the modern disciples of
Christ. But what do all these sects hold in common? Despite their differing emphases of doctrine and practice, they are still
Christian. If one can agree with this statement, then he is in essence what I call a “nonsectarian Christian.”

A Valid Scientific Theory: The first verse of the Bible says that “God created
the heavens and the earth.” But can this Scripture be taken seriously? Should one consider attempting to prove Genesis
1:1 a scientific endeavor? As biologist Dr. Gary Parker noted, “For many people, that question is a major stumbling
block. Some even use it as an excuse to throw creation out of the courtroom or classroom without even hearing the evidence,”
(Parker 13). Yet I, as Gary Parker has done, propose that creationism is a valid theory. Allow me to explain why. [read full article]
The Role of Tradition: Our brothers and sisters in the Roman Catholic Church often
hold the belief that both the Bible and Church traditions are to be used when we decide what to believe. Does this contradict
the words of the Scriptures, though? The following response will include verses from the New American Bible alone, which Catholics
generally hold as the correct version of the Bible. [read full article]
Pacificm: If asked, many people in today's society would not be able to picture
Jesus spanking a kid, fighting in war, or protesting a gay pride parade. A large portion of Westerners have been taught that
Jesus is the “Prince of Peace,” but they can't imagine Him “judging the living and the dead.” Yet
this is clearly within the character of the Christ, who is the God of both the Old and New Testaments. The Bible says He is
coming back to Earth to judge all men (2 Timothy 4:1), and even now those who are truly spiritual “judge all things,”
(1 Cor. 2:14-15). [read full article]

How to Be Led By the Spirit: Jesus said in John 10:47, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and
they follow Me.” This means that we, as Christians, should develop relationships with God that are so close that we
can recognize when He tells us to do something or to avoid doing something. We should be sensitive to the voice of the Holy
Spirit, and acknowledge Him in all our doings so that He can direct our paths (Proverbs 3:5). [more]
Defining Christianity: Is Christianity a belief-system, a lifestyle, or
a relationship with God? Well, because humans are tri-part beings, becoming a Christian has implications on a spiritual
level, a psychological level, and physical level. There are Scriptures that refer to the differences made in each one
upon conversion. A true Christian will manifest in all three areas, although sometimes it may be easier to identify
them by only one or two of these. [more]

The Critically Thinking Christian: Have you ever been to a church where the people just nod their heads and
say “amen” to most everything the preacher says, without ever having a disagreement with him? If you live on Planet
Earth, the chances are you have. It seems that very few Christians question their teacher's beliefs. If they do, it tends
to be because they want lower moral standards to live by than what the Bible demands. But many believers are just that, mere
“believers,” who eat everything that's fed to them without giving the message a second thought. [more]
God Wants to Be Involved: Often when Christians describe what it means to
be a believer, they say “It's not about religion; it's about a relationship with God.” But many cannot put into
words what it means to know God. Basically, it is when you are involved in His life, and He is involved in yours. He cares
about every situation you face, no matter how seemingly insignificant it may be. [more]

Why Christians Go to Hell: You may have said the sinner's prayer. You

Redifining Faith: Having faith is not when you blindly accept belief without acknowledging
the evidence. Rather, it is choosing to be loyal to obey God even when you are not comfortable with it. It is receiving His

Heaven on Earth: Too often the only thing people worry about is getting into Heaven. But there
is so much more to Christianity than getting saved. Jesus wants us to bring Heaven to earth. It’s why He prayed, "Let

The Grace of God: Many people mistakenly view God's grace as the same thing as His forgiveness.
