Psalm 34:8 tells us, “Taste and see
that the LORD is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!” Hebrews 6:5 also speaks of those “who have
tasted the goodness of the word of God and the power of the age to come.” I know exactly what these verses are talking
about, because I have tasted Yahweh lately, and He tastes good! He has touched me in powerful ways through the current revival
at IHOP, and it is making me increasingly passionate for Him.
First I came
to my church to watch the webcast of the revival on the evening of November 15th, and heard a testimony of a young man who was freed from the shame of a sin he committed years
ago. His story was absolutely amazing to me, and I received a measure of inner healing as those at IHOP prayed for people
to have their self-image cleaned up. It was so beautiful what God was doing that I even shed a few tears.
Then I watched
the webcast from Wednesday the 9th
and I was completely shocked by what God did. I felt His acceptance and adoration for me while I sat before the computer screen,
such as I have not encountered for a couple years. My body started to react to it – and I thought I might start laughing.
Instead choking sobs began to come out of me. I sensed that I was undergoing dramatic deliverance, though it was not even
totally clear to me what issues were being dealt with within my heart.
Finally,
this past Tuesday I felt drawn to watch the meeting from Thursday the 10th, and was overwhelmed by God again. At one point, physical rain started to sprinkle across the
auditorium at IHOP, and I could see people responding to it throughout the crowd. It was a profound miracle. Then, the worshippers
broke out in the coolest dancing I have ever witnessed in a revival – dancing in modern styles that people normally
never use in church. It was almost like they were competing at some times. After that Shelley Hundley got up to speak, and
I was blown away by what she said.
Shelley spoke
of a trance she went into at a previous meeting where the Lord lifted her up to a room in Heaven. He showed her a number of
things about what He is planning for His Bride, but one phrase He told her seemed to be the theme of the entire experience.
Speaking of where the Church was headed, Jesus announced, “We're never going back!” I began to laugh and shout
in the Spirit when Shelley spoke of this part of her visitation, and I believe my hysteria was a prophetic indication of the
importance of what was being shared. God wants us to be ecstatic over that fact that He is giving us grace to progress! We
are not having our individual gifts taken back from us, and we are not losing any specific anointing in the global Body of
Christ. God is taking us higher and deeper into His glorious presence!
The moving
of God is so wonderful. I have noticed that I am always very thirsty for Christ's kindness, and when He comes to give me a
drink, it is so delicious it just makes me thirstier! He satisfies me by making me long for more! I do not mind though, because
it is incredibly fun!
I encourage
you to drink up yourself. As the GOD'S WORD Translation says in Song of Solomon 5:1, “Eat, my friends! Drink and become
intoxicated with expressions of love!” You will thoroughly enjoy it.
