Doris writes, “Here is my dream:

     "I was stepping off the curb into the street when a black couple standing on the sidewalk grabbed me by the arm and threw me to the ground, with me landing on my back. The women then leaned over me and said, 'I have been watching you for some time running to and fro, and I have a word from the LORD for you.' She started prophesying over me saying that the gifts the LORD has given me are mine to keep. He is not taking them away. Then she said (shaking her head), 'But Girl!' (I thought, 'Am I in trouble?') and then she said, 'The LORD wants you to know how much He loves you!”
     “Then I crossed the street and went into a church. I walked straight into the pastor's office and sat down behind the pastor's desk. No one was in there. I sat and I thought. The pastor then came in. He looked like the pastor of a church I used to attend, but he didn't really act like him. I sat there a while and he just waited.
     “Then I got up and walked to his massive study library. I said, 'This is what I do. I study. All the time. This is what I am to do.' I remember thinking the following in my dream, 'But I have no outlet. What is it all for anyway? But it is what I am to do and I love to study.' But I was really contemplative and just standing there.
     “Then my friend Brenda walked into the room. She was dressed and ready for a revival that was going to start soon at this church, with the black couple I had been with across the street ministering. She started talking to the pastor and he said to me, 'This is one of your friends you were telling me about?' I replied 'Yes.' Then he said, 'There is another friend, what is her name?' I told him her name is Sharon [last name] and he repeated her name 2 or 3 more times.

     "I wasn't dressed for the service. I was in jeans and shirt and not feeling exactly like I wanted to go. Brenda said, 'Here, I brought you clothes for the revival,' and gave me a suitcase. The pastor left and I got ready for the service.”

Destin writes, “Hi Doris! I shared your dream with my mom, and together we came up with what I believe the interpretation is. At least what much of it is.
     “The black couple represented another 'race' of Christian to you, some group that is slightly different from you in culture and background - but not totally. You were thrown off guard by the way they have tried to inspire you, not knowing what to think about it. It appeared to somehow challenge you concerning your own personal calling. You went to go seek God (the pastor) and just spend some quiet time with Him while you soaked in all you had heard.
     “I'm not sure what Brenda represents to you. I'm guessing she may have some kind of connection to this other Christian 'race' that ministered to you. And I think, at least if Sharon [last name] is not someone you really know, that Sharon represents a belief you may have held close (as a friend). [Her last name] signifies how you thought all your studying was just for personal enjoyment or enrichment, when God really has something bigger He's going to use your knowledge for. And I looked up the meaning of 'Sharon,' which is 'the plains.' So maybe her name represents how you thought you were just partaking in 'plain [activities]' as you spent so much time reading and learning.
    “Now it seems God is calling you to become involved in how He is moving among the religious culture that is foreign to you (their revival), and He wants you to be properly dressed - not having a perspective of yourself as a casual listener anymore (like your jeans and t-shirt were casual). And He is providing what you need to get ready.
      “I think the prophesy that the couple gave you is really the central message of the dream though. It seems like just as real of a prophesy as you could have received while you were awake.
      “Anyway, that's all we could come up with! I hope it helps!”

Doris responds, “Hi Destin. Thank you very much for taking a look at my dream. My spirit bares witness with your interpretation. Your interpretation is very good. You saw some things I didn't at first, but it makes perfect sense and explains some things to me. Things I have been dealing with. Thank you and tell your mom thank you also, please.”
