A  Message to New Readers

You live in a spiritual world. And, you are constantly being affected by other unseen forces. Someone can shake your hand, and if they are mean-spirited, a demon-spirit of bitterness may influence you. If you go into a place that has a spirit of peace in it, then you can rest under the gaurd of an angelic spirit of peace. If you are reading the Bible, then you may be inspired, and have the Holy Spirit of God enter your heart.

There are spirits everywhere... they are the essence of every human being. As stated above, there are heavenly spiritual creatures called angels, and satanic spirits called demons. The Bible even says that animals are spirits (Ecclesiastes 3:21). But the most important, most powerful spirit of all, is God's.

In Hebrew (the language most of the Bible was written in), the word for spirit literally means breath. This is why exhaling is also called exspiring. Therefore, the loss of all breath is the loss of all spirit.

Genesis 2:7 say, "And God formed man from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the Spirit of life." Romans 5:12 then tells us, "through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin..."

Sin has killed you. If you want to breath the breath of life, then you need to begin to respond to the living, breathing Spirit of Jesus Christ, who overcame death so that He could give us life. Let Him inspire you, and ask Him to develop a closer relationship with you today. He will take you to places you've never been before.

Tips for Getting to Know God Better

  • Pray All the Time: 1 Thess. 5:17 says, "Pray without stopping." In other words, include God in every moment of your life by talking to Him about it. He will be faithful to respond back, and as you grow closer to Him, you will begin to recognize His voice of counsel.
  • Get the Word of God: Read the Bible, listen to Christian music, listen to preachers, and do whatever you can to get God's message into your heart. God's Word is food for your spirit, so make sure you are learning what the Bible says if you want to grow in faith.
  • Don't Expect Too Much From Yourself: A person takes years to physically mature, and sometimes they cannot notice any changes in their growth for months. The same is true for our spiritual growth. Do not get disappointed simply because you do not see much change in yourself. God is maturing you slowly, but surely.
  • Get to Know People Who Know God: "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens the wits of another," Proverbs 27:17. When we come together as Christians, we can share our own knowlege, beliefs, and experience to help each other develope healthy thought-lives. Even when two people are both wrong, they can often find the right balance when they come together and share their hearts. And, if they are both right, they will only encourage each other and build healthy relationships.
  • Ask Jesus to Fill You With His Spirit: The Bible says in Acts 1:8 that "when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, you will have power to be witnesses" for Jesus. This means His Spirit gives us the ability we need to be bold and share our faith in Christ with others. Also, the Holy Spirit gives us supernatural gifts to use to help others. Pray to Jesus and ask Him to fill you with His Spirit. Then, believe that He has filled you. "For everyone who asks receives," Matthew 7:8.

  A Simple Rhyme
With a Simple Offer

Look around you, men
This world is an intricate painting.
How, then,
Can you ignore the source of its making?
There is a God,
It’s undeniable.
And, he has laws
Which - upon breaking - are punishable.

God gave us ten commandments
and ten of them you’ve broke
You’ve told a lie
And once you stole
That makes you a liar
And thief both.

God said, "Thou shalt not murder,"
but this you’ve also done.
Yes, you,
For Christ has said, "Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer."
This sin you’ve committed too.

You are also an adulterer.
Jesus said -"But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart."
And in this way you have looked at her [him].

Ten commandments you have broke,
You’re guilty of them all.
In what now do you put you hope
To save your soul from Hell?
You’ve done the crime
And there will come the time
When you’ll have to pay the fine.
Do you expect a good Judge
to just let you off the line?

This is what Jesus has done for you:
He paid your price
When he gave his own life.
He was dead,
So you could live instead.

Now, though
Because he was innocent
He stands here,
Arisen
And the cost of your fine he has given.

Will you just consent,
and repent?

Tell him.

A Sample Prayer

Jesus, I am sinner.
Please forgive me
and clean me from my past.
I want to live my life for you,
and I want to get to know you.
Please help me to do that,
and thank you for it.
I love you.
Amen.
