Cindy Jacobs has long prophesied that abortion will end in America. She even
has gone so far as to say there will one day be a memorial statue to the unborn in the White House Rotunda. Numerous other
leaders – such as Lou Engle, Rick Joyner, and Patricia King – are praying for and prophesying the same type of
thing. We can be confident that they are not operating in presumption. Their encouragements are more than hype and high hopes.
Roe vs. Wade is going to be overturned, and a recent Gallop Poll indicates
that most Americans would probably not be upset by that. According to Charisma
and Christian Life, for the first time in 15 years over half of those who were
surveyed stated that they were “pro-life.” Only a year ago 50 percent of them were “pro-choice,” but
that number has now fallen to 42 percent.
The Charisma article that covered this poll noted that President Obama's extreme policies may have helped
to contribute to the dramatic change in statistics. In the article, Wendy Wright of the Concerned Women for America said,
“Barack Obama has revealed what 'pro-choice' means—taxpayer-funded abortions, eliminating common-sense regulations,
[and] rescinding protections for doctors and medical providers who decline to participate in abortion.” Rather than
trying to “reach across the aisle” and respect pro-lifers, our President has already pushed a strictly liberal
agenda in a very aggressive way. Yet he has not even been in office a year.
I have no doubt Obama's decisions have resulted in the pro-life movement
being strengthened. Satan is only a pawn in the hand of God, and his work in our government can be turned around for the Lord's
purposes. Nevertheless, the most significant factor in the recent growth of our movement has probably been the increase in
prayer being released in the past few years. Especially since the rise of ministries such as TheCall and the International
House of Prayer, focused intercession against the “culture of death” has hit an all time high in America.
Thousands of people in our nation constantly wear a red “life-band”
on their wrists, which reminds them to pray daily, “Jesus, I plead your blood over my sins, and the sins of my nation.
God, end abortion and send revival to America!” Such consistent and fervent petitioning cannot be in vain! There have
been already been multiple cases of abortion clinics that have completely shut down after prayer-warriors started standing
outside them calling for their closing. God will be faithful to answer the cries of His people!
We must have vision for the victory that is to come (Proverbs 29:18).
A new generation is rising that is passionate about fighting social injustice, and abortion is not going to become a side-issue
in the Church. A 2007 Pew Forum study on young evangelicals has shown them to be even more committed to the cause for life
than those who are over the age of 30.
Indeed, there may be great hardship ahead for the United States, as a
result of the sins we have already taken part in. However, looming judgement on our current moral state does not mean that
the soul of this nation cannot be saved. There is a Third Great Awakening set before us, and as we diligently seek it, our
future will only grow brighter.
