"Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit," (Proverbs 18:21).

Words are powerful. God said, "Let there be light," and it was so! Being made in God's likeness, we have the same power to call upon those things which do not exit as if they do. You can literally change your circumstances from the way they are by the power in your mouth. For our God is "the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were," (Romans 4:17).

Are you dealing with fear, addiction, negativity, or doubt? Are you currently overweight, underweight, sick or deformed?  "Have faith in God," Jesus answered. "I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. So I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours," (Mark 11:22-24).

Whatever it is that you are dealing with, God has given you the ability to bless or curse your situation. You can even use you words to effect other people's lives. Though it may sound silly, look up what the Bible says a believer should be like, and begin to call yourself those things everyday. Soon, you will find yourself coming to accept what you say - for "faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God," (Romans 10:17).

Do not stop there though! Let God use you to start lifting the curses off of other people's lives. Isaiah 52:7 says, "How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation - who say to Zion, 'Your God reigns!'" We can be bringers of good news when we tell others how much God loves them, and inform them about what the Bible tells us is ours if we are belong to Him.

Some may object, "Oh, your just trying to use that mind-over-matter philosophy!" No, we do not put our faith in our own ability to believe. We put our faith in Jesus Christ, who paid the price for us to walk in abundant life. We speak what His word says He has accomplished for us. It would not be available to us at all through our own mental power.

So go on, bless yourself! And use your words to be a blessing to everyone you can. Miracles will surely result.
